POSITION: Divisional Controller
JOB TYPE: Full Time, Permanent
LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta
SALARY/WAGE: $90,000-$140,000 per year
JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting Fraction Energy Services in the recruitment of a Divisional Controller. The Divisional Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a specific business division, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role partners closely with divisional leadership to provide strategic financial insight, analysis, and guidance that supports sound operational and business decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the division
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, tax regulations, and audit requirements
- Act as primary divisional contact for internal and external audits
- Manage, mentor, and develop divisional accounting and finance staff
- Set performance goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Improve financial processes, reporting tools, and system efficiency
- Support ERP and financial system implementations or enhancements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Prior experience in a controller, divisional, or senior finance role is an asset
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, and controls
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel (or equivalent tools)
- Leadership experience managing and developing teams
