We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our busy facility in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is fundamental to the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse and production areas. You will operate various types of equipment to load, unload, transport, and stage materials. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas, or from storage to production/shipping areas.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Ensure materials are organized, properly stored, and easily accessible.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and safe material handling procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly and perform demanding physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
