Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa? Our busy logistics facility is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of materials throughout our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving goods to and from storage areas, and ensuring the efficient flow of inventory. This role is vital to our supply chain operations, and we emphasize a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. You'll be working with a dedicated team in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Safely transport materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring no damage occurs.
- Perform daily inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all guidelines for lifting and material handling to ensure personal and team safety.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, which is key for smooth logistics.
Qualifications:
- Certified Forklift Operator with proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
