GI has primary investment and asset management responsibility for Aflacs general account consisting of public, private, and growth assets (including strategic partnerships) which generates approximately $3.5 billion a year in net investment income./ppThe investment teams support GIs overall goals and objectives by providing market insight and in-depth knowledge of assigned asset classes. GI oversees the strategic deployment of capital for life and supplemental health insurance company balance sheets utilizing both internal teams and external third-party asset managers./ppProgram Overview/ppThe Summer Internship is an intensive 10-week internship program within investment compliance, a team responsible for administering the investment compliance program at Aflac Global Investments./ppThe Intern will gain valuable experience in investment compliance, including exposure to industry, company, financial, portfolio monitoring while using/maintaining large data sets and synthesizing ideas from data, while learning about insurance asset management and the industry./ppThe Intern will benefit from virtual exposure to Aflac Global Investments platform with emphasis on fixed income - portfolio management, understanding the life cycle of a trade through investment risk management, trading and operations and the execution of investments across our US and Japan operations./ppThe Intern will interact with Senior Management and will present their analytical project(s) to an audience of key stakeholders including other analysts, investment professionals, and Senior Management concluding the their 10 weeks./ppJob Functional Responsibilities Include:/pulliInspect, clean, transform, and model data to discover useful information to forecast generated income from assets, coupons, dividends, and external partnerships./liliContribute to modeling for a specific asset class./liliSupport optimization./liliWork to limit regulatory and reputation risk of Aflac and help to reinforce Aflac Global Investments culture of compliance./liliWritten and verbal presentations to assorted stakeholders./liliParticipate in company/department wide meetings throughout the summer./li/ulpAdditional Qualifications Include:/pulliExcellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills/liliStrong verbal and written communication skills/liliIntermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint/liliGithub, Python, SQL, C++, and/or Snowflake-preferred but not required./liliAll candidates must have eligibility to work permanently in the U.S. and must be physically located in the continental U.S. for the duration of internship./liliWorking time zone is Eastern Standard Time in New York City./liliWorker Designation: hybrid work schedule minimum of 3 days per week and excited to have in-person learning for the summer of 2026./li/ulpThe range on these positions is $31.25/hr. and is a non-exempt position. The position requires the individual to work 40 hours per week for ~10 weeks based on the companys hybrid work schedule noted above. A housing stipend will be provided for non-local candidates./ppThis compensation range is specific to the job level and considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
