The Sales Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities through research, cold calling, outreach, and lead qualifications. This role supports revenue growth by identifying potential clients, engaging prospects, and assisting with early-stage account management. The SDR also supports client retention efforts through coordinated follow-ups and participation in renewal activities. Lead Generation & Sales Outreach Conduct cold calls, researched outreach, and proactive solicitation to develop new sales opportunities. Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule meetings for the sales team. Support client retention through routine follow ups and participation in renewal reviews. Sales Support & Proposal Assistance Assist with proposal preparation and small scale quotes, including Rapid Response Team requests. Support responses for RFP/RFQ opportunities, including: o Review of bid documents and required signatures o Prequalification packages o Bid bonds o DVBE/SB documentation and certifications o Certificates of Insurance Maintain team and company resumes, project references, and related materials. Communicate with internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors to gather information needed for accurate quoting. Coordinate vendor and subcontractor setup as needed. Support development and revision of scopes, proposal templates, and presentation documents. Prepare materials and binders for client presentations. Field & Cross Team Collaboration Conduct site visits to gather information needed for maintenance and project proposals. Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Project Management, Chiller Teams, and other departments as required. Maintain consistent communication with the Director of Sales and support sales personnel. Professional Development Actively participate in sales training, product training, and all development opportunities provided by EMCOR/Mesa. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline. 3+ years of experience in a construction, HVAC, or building automation environment (sales support or customer facing roles preferred). Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office. Highly self motivated with strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with cold calling and client engagement. Demonstrated sales aptitude and presentation skills. Financial acumen, including basic cost modeling for proposals. Experience preparing technical and cost proposals is a plus.
