About
We are looking for a dependable Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Houston, Texas. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our logistics center, involving the physical movement and organization of goods. As a Material Handler, your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, operating various types of material handling equipment, and ensuring that all items are transported and stored safely and accurately. You will be instrumental in maintaining the flow of products from receiving to shipping, ensuring that materials are readily available for subsequent processes. Key tasks involve using pallet jacks, forklifts (certification may be required), and other machinery to move, stack, and arrange inventory. This position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and possess a good understanding of warehouse operations. A proactive attitude towards safety, including the diligent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe lifting practices, is essential. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from various transport vehicles.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified and required).
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment within the warehouse.
- Stack, organize, and arrange materials in designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including frequent lifting and moving of heavy objects.
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
