Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Washington, D.C.? We are hiring a dedicated professional to join our busy distribution center. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse, from receiving to dispatch. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from production and storage areas, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will play a vital part in our logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate handling of products. Strong attention to safety and adherence to all operating procedures are non-negotiable. We provide a comprehensive training program and expect all team members to wear the appropriate PPE at all times. This position involves significant forklift operation and requires the ability to perform tasks involving lifting . Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas.
- Stack and organize inventory in racks and on shelves.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and checks.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE .
- Handle occasional lifting of items not moved by forklift.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Knowledge of forklift maintenance and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting .
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
