This vital role ensures that all inventory entering our warehouse is accurately accounted for, inspected, and documented. You will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying quantities and item details against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and entering receiving data into our system. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount, and strict adherence to Safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming freight from various carriers.
- Inspect all incoming merchandise for damage, defects, and discrepancies against purchase orders.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system (WMS).
- Generate and distribute receiving reports, addressing any variances.
- Stage received inventory in designated areas for put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Ensure compliance with all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use all required PPE throughout the shift.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.
- Assist with other warehouse functions to support overall logistics flow.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving clerk or warehouse position is preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in counting and recording.
- Ability to perform tasks involving manual labor and occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper PPE usage.
- Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team environment.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain concepts is a plus.
