About
We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our San Jose, California facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in our logistics operations by safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials and products within the warehouse. This position requires proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and a deep understanding of warehouse safety protocols. You will be responsible for maintaining the flow of goods, ensuring accurate inventory placement, and supporting the overall efficiency of our distribution center. A strong commitment to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse efficiently and safely.
- Inspect forklifts before and after each shift, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Accurately place inventory in correct locations and assist with inventory management.
- Follow all established safety procedures and warehouse operating guidelines.
- Adhere to strict PPE requirements at all times while operating equipment.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed, including staging orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent hazards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational goals.
- Participate in other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Proven ability to safely handle heavy loads and operate machinery with precision.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Knowledge of PPE and its critical role in preventing accidents.
- Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
