Internal Sales| Salary up to £30,000 + Performance Bonus | Permanent | Leicester Established trade supplier seeks experienced internal sales professional to manage regional customer portfolio Our client is a long-established, family-owned trade supply business with exceptional financial stability and a loyal customer base built over decades. They're looking for someone with genuine trade counter, merchant, or allied supply sector experience to join their tight-knit Leicester team. This is a telephone-based sales and order coordination role managing a regional customer territory, requiring strong product knowledge in building services, mechanical systems, or related trade supplies. Core responsibilities: Sales and customer relationship management: * Managing inbound sales enquiries from trade customers, providing accurate quotations for products and materials * Conducting proactive outbound calling to existing and prospective customers to generate orders * Building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, installers, merchants, and trade professionals * Identifying opportunities for product upselling and cross-selling within customer requirements * Working collaboratively with external field sales representatives to achieve branch sales targets * Converting enquiries into confirmed orders through consultative selling approach Order processing and administration: * Accurately processing customer orders and ensuring timely delivery coordination * Maintaining comprehensive customer records, order history, and account details in company systems * Monitoring order progress and proactively communicating with customers regarding delivery schedules * Resolving customer queries, complaints, and issues professionally and efficiently * Liaising with suppliers and warehouse teams to confirm stock availability and manage expectations * Supporting stock level management and flagging availability concerns Product knowledge and customer support: * Providing technical product information and application advice to trade customers * Developing in-depth knowledge of product ranges, specifications, and compatibility * Staying current with new products, industry developments, and competitor offerings * Offering solutions-based recommendations to meet customer project requirements Essential requirements: * Proven experience in heating systems, plumbing supplies, builders merchants, electrical wholesale, tool/plant hire, or allied trade supply sectors (essential) * Background working with trade customers, contractors, site teams, or installers * Telephone sales or internal sales experience in a trade/technical environment * Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer-facing interactions * Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems and CRM platforms quickly * Target-driven mindset with enthusiasm to contribute to team sales objectives * Strong multitasking capabilities and ability to thrive in busy, fast-paced environment * Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail * Self-motivated with proactive approach to customer relationship management Remuneration and benefits: * Competitive salary up to £30,000 per annum dependent on experience * Performance-related bonus scheme based on branch sales achievements * Monday to Friday working pattern * Comprehensive product and systems training provided About the employer: This is a well-established family business with a proven track record, strong market position, and excellent financial health.
