About

Orbis is looking for a DevOps Systems Engineer to support our customer in Annapolis Junction, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, sustaining, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows including data storage, data transport, data management, data security, data compliance, and knowledge store management. Additional tasking includes: working with the mission customer to perform exploratory data analysis on raw data to clean, enrich, transform and convert the raw data into the required formats. Will be responsible for devising methods to improve existing operational data flow processing, distribution, and reliability. Duties & Responsibilities: Must be authorized to work in the US Active TS/SCI w/ appropriate level Polygraph required Experience with AWS (S3, VPCs & Networking, EC2, ECS/EKS) Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Registries) Experience with IaC (Terraform/Cloud Formation) Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins/Gitlab/Github Actions) Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows Experience with Corporate data flow processes and tools Experience with Corporate data security and compliance procedures and policies Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) Experience with Unix/Linux CLI
Required Skills & Abilities: Must be authorized to work in the US Active TS/SCI w/ appropriate level Polygraph required Experience using the Unix CLI Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows Experience using Apache NiFi canvas to process and distribute data Experience with Corporate data flow processes and tools Experience with Corporate data security and compliance procedures and policies Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) Experience with Linux
Education & Experience: Minimum of 5 years' as a DevOps/Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills & Abilities: SQL querying experience Experience using Apache NiFi canvas to process and distribute data General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components Experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch/Kibana) Experience with time-series visualization tools such as Grafana Experience writing scripts using Bash/Python Experience with IaC principles and automation tools Responsible for the deployment of microservices Demonstrated experiences in cloud-based system development & integration testing
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region and at overseas client sites
