We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and processed. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational efficiency are key to maintaining the integrity of our inventory. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for any damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received goods appropriately for storage.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments regarding shipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move incoming merchandise.
- Adhere to all company Safety guidelines and procedures.
- Properly utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling shipments.
- Assist with occasional Lifting of packages, typically up to 30 lbs.
- Support the logistics team by ensuring timely processing of all inbound materials.
- Participate in inventory audits as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external parties.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform occasional moderate Lifting.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
