About
Our Houston, Texas facility is seeking an attentive Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of all incoming goods. This role is foundational to our warehouse operations and overall logistics chain, ensuring that inventory is accurately received, verified, and recorded. You will play a key part in maintaining precise inventory data and facilitating the smooth flow of materials throughout our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming freight from carriers.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing lists, identifying any discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and stage received products for put-away or immediate use.
- Report damages, shortages, or overages to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE during all receiving activities.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments.
- Support the efficiency of our logistics operations through timely and accurate receiving.
- Perform tasks that involve moderate lifting and careful handling of incoming materials.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role or similar inventory management position.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with WMS or similar inventory software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles is advantageous.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with all regulations.
