Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Engineer position will be responsible for the strategic planning, installation, management, and administration of the corporate network switches, routers, VPN, and wireless devices. This position will assist the telecommunication, unified communication, and data center teams to configure and troubleshoot any cross-platform solutions. This position will work directly with the Network Manager for the architecting, designing, planning, and implementing of current and future network designs. The Senior Network Engineer will also recommend policies and procedures that are current with industry standards for maximum uptime while adhering to security policies. Some essential functions of this position include: Responsible for overall management of network switches, firewalls, VPN, and wireless. Architect, plan, and present strategic network designs to management. Design and implement upgrades, patches, equipment upgrades, and configurations. Provides technical network consultation and guidance for IT entities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all global network technologies through vendors, training, publications, and seminars. Manage capacity planning for network equipment while architecting upgrade paths for growth. Resolve network issues in a timely manner. Grant secure, reliable, and cost-effective remote access to the network. Creates and maintains network documentation. Evaluate, test, recommend, and implement new network services and technologies that can increase and improve employee productivity. Minimum education requirements include a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Experience requirement includes eight years of experience in enterprise networking. Enterprise experience working with Cisco, Dell, Brocade, Aruba, Shoretel, Nortel/Avaya, and Fortinet is required. Experience with network design and implementation planning is also required. Proven project management experience is necessary. Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements include strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work after normal business hours when needed, CCNP Certification required, CCIE preferred, and certifications in Cisco DCUCI, CCVP, VIVND, IUWND, and CompTIA A+ preferred but not required. Physical requirements include seeing, ability to travel, pushing/pulling, color perception, climbing, carrying (specify pounds 50), and lifting (specify pounds 50).
