We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our Baltimore, Maryland location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the accuracy of our inventory within our warehouse. This position is essential for the smooth functioning of our logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring product availability and minimizing stock discrepancies. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain and update inventory records using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Monitor inventory levels, identify reorder points, and report stock issues.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Track inbound and outbound inventory movements and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as receiving and shipping, to maintain inventory integrity.
- Enforce all safety regulations, ensuring the correct use of PPE and safe material handling practices.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related logistics field.
- Proficiency with WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions regarding inventory.
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs when required.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Understanding of relevant PPE and its proper use.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
