POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a talented Project Engineer with deep technical expertise in LMR (Land, Mobile & Radio) security systems. In this role, you will specialize in RF design, system configuration, complex troubleshooting, and optimization. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and performance of LMR solutions from design to deployment.
WHAT YOU WILL DOAs a Project Engineer providing embedded design services, your responsibilities will include:
- Design and Documentation
- Create comprehensive and accurate design packages, including floor plans, schematic diagrams, and detailed installation instructions.
- Ensure designs meet client standards, incorporate Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, and comply with building codes.
- Review design calculations and coordinate lighting requirements.
- Complete necessary programming forms for system commissioning.
- Participate in review meetings to integrate feedback and adapt designs for unique site conditions.
- Installation and Coordination
- Develop a detailed construction schedule for security activities and lead coordination meetings.
- Act as the central point of contact for coordinating security requirements with major trades.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are procured and installed according to design specifications.
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee installation quality and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Protect Security Systems and property throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Closeout
- Coordinate system programming and oversee pre-installation sign-offs and testing.
- Demonstrate all systems for final acceptance.
- Prepare and submit final O&M manuals and as-built documents.
- Provide training for security, facility, and technical staff as needed.
- RF design/software certification (e.g., iBwave or similar), Level 2 or higher.
- Experience in radio operations deployment.
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical design position.
- Familiarity with analogue, digital (e.g., P25, DMR, TETRA), and DAS system design processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with BIM365.
- Familiarity with BLUEBEAM.
