Opportunity: Virtual Service Operations is searching for an experienced Mobile Application Developer to join our dynamic IT team in Ashburn, VA. This hybrid role requires candidates to work approximately 2 days per week on-site. This role requires a strong mix of communications skills and hands on technical troubleshooting to support application issues and application of preventative measures. In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. The candidate should have expertise in Mobile App Development. Responsibilities
Note: The following responsibilities reflect the core expectations for the Mobile Application Developer role. Architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time mobile applications. Collaborate to determine best designs based on customer objectives, timelines, and resource constraints. Lead or participate in major deliverables across the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. Support application issues and implement preventative measures through strong troubleshooting and debugging. Demonstrate strong communication skills and teamwork in a hybrid work environment.
Basic Qualifications
BS/BA degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 years of prior relevant experience; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree At least 5 years experience with Mobile Application Development, must have experience with both Android & iOS Experience in Front-end Mobile and Back-end RESTful API development Experience in development of JAVA and Node.js applications Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases Strong application testing discipline. Experience with Googles Flutter engine and Dart language and similar Android/iOS frameworks Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking Proficiency with Postgres, Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka, MySQL, Hibernate, Java, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular/React Knowledge of software design patterns Experience with issue/problem tracking systems (e.g., Jira) Proficiency with Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and modern development practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with DevOps frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
Active CBP BI Experience with CBP AWS Experience Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines Experience in Agile environments Other mobile frameworks experience
Requirements
Must be able to work approximately 2 days per week on-site in Ashburn, VA Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status. Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
