The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC), is recruiting for the position of Correctional Lieutenant at Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville.

Position Highlights

  • These positions are full-time, 40-hours per week, and are located at Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville.
  • Openings are available on first, second, and third shift (to be determined by the needs of the Agency.) These positions work on a 5x3 schedule.
  • Correctional Lieutenant responsibilities include:

  • Assist supervising a large complement of officers;

  • Assume responsibility for custody and security of inmates, buildings, and grounds in the absence of a Captain;
  • Assign staff to posts and making frequent inspections to evaluate the performance of officers;
  • Provide effective oversight of posts and enforce rules and regulations;
  • Respond to crisis situations in a supervisory capacity;
  • Review and act upon reports submitted by officers and/or other staff.
