What You'll Do
As our Deaf Youth Program Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our youth programs. You'll help bring our after-school activities, summer camps, and family programs to life by creating exciting opportunities for learning and fun.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Coordinating all aspects of the Deaf Youth Program—scheduling, logistics, and keeping families in the loop.
- Designing and developing activities that spark growth in language development, Deaf culture, job readiness, and independent living skills.
- Planning and running our Summer Camp—dream up activities, manage registration, and make the magic happen.
- Working as part of a team to improve and expand youth and family programs.
- Keeping track of attendance, participation, and program milestones.
- Answering questions from families or connecting them with the right staff member.
- Helping us keep DHHC a welcoming, safe, and fun space for youth, teens, and families.
- Pitching in on other projects and duties as needed.
Who We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who is:
- Deaf or CODA, with advanced ASL skills and a clear understanding of Deaf culture.
- Experienced (or excited to grow) in working with Deaf or hard of hearing youth.
- Friendly, flexible, and professional with a big heart for our mission.
- Organized, dependable, and ready to jump in where needed.
- Committed to confidentiality and integrity.
- Able to pass a Level 2 background check and drug screening.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Early Childhood Education or a related field), or equivalent hands-on experience with Deaf/hard of hearing youth.
- Event planning or program coordination experience is a plus.
When & Where You'll Work
- Part-time hours—let's talk about what works best.
- Our main hours are Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Be ready for occasional evenings, some Saturdays, and special events.
- Some local travel (such as to schools or community events) is part of the job.
- Mostly office-based with some light activity (standing, bending, carrying light items).
