Duties

• Review and interpret medical documentation to assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes accurately.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to ensure timely reimbursement. TheraPlatform experience required
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes to maximize revenue recovery.
• Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring all billing information aligns with medical terminology and coding standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies for precise billing.
• Stay current with updates in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Generate reports on billing activities, claim status, and revenue metrics to support administrative decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare/therapeutic setting; familiarity with medical office operations is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, DRG classifications, and medical terminology.
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for documentation, coding, and billing purposes. TheraPlatform experience is required.
• Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately for proper coding and billing procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently.
• Knowledge of medical collection processes and insurance reimbursement protocols.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
