Job Summary
The Foxtail Operations Manager role supports baristas and stores, with responsibilities evolving as the company expands. A key initial focus is time management, balancing the constant demands of stores and teams while prioritizing tasks and self-care. The management team fosters a supportive environment focused on coffee excellence, compassionate leadership, education, and professional development.
General:
● Scheduling team members.
● Overseeing and conducting team member training.
● Hiring, promotions, and termination.
● Instilling a healthy and safe workspace and culture.
● Holding team members accountable for workflow and tasks.
● Expected to lead by example.
Financial Accountability:
● Tracking all financial inconsistencies and solving any issues that arise.
● Accurately depositing daily or weekly cash sales made.
● Ordering operational and equipment needs for the store.
● Sales and cost of goods tracking to keep location in good standing.
On Shift Leadership:
●Count the cash drawer in the morning, midday, & evening depending on the shift being worked.
● Being able to delegate tasks to the rest of the team on shift.
● Keeping fellow leadership in the loop with any health, safety, and operational concerns on shift.
● Oversees that weekly deliveries are stored and put away properly.
● Maintaining a positive team and customer atmosphere.
Product:
● Ensures that all team members and customers are educated on our products and services.
● Maintains consistent high quality product standards.
● Follows all Foxtail Coffee drink recipes and procedures.
● Passes required re-certifications in a timely manner.
● Advanced understanding of coffee and tea regions and the various differences in flavor and blends.
● Fully educated themselves on the various types of coffee, tea products, blends and roasts currently available.
● Proficiently prepares steamed and cold drinks provided by the store.
Service:
● Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items.
● Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.
● Handles all customer complaints.
● Responds proactively to prevent poor or unsatisfactory customer service situations.
● Accurately rings sales orders into the cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
● Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greetings, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders.
● Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness.
● Weighs, grinds and packs coffee per customers' orders according to Company guidelines.
● Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.
● Maintains efficient, friendly service.
Environment:
● Restocks shelves when necessary.
● Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash, etc.
● Orders and assists in the distribution of weekly shipments.
● Handles all reports of potential safety hazards.
● Handles all reports of all employee accidents.
● Handles and corrects any operational inconsistencies.
● Contacts approved maintenance parties and oversees completion of repairs
Requirements, Qualifications & Physical Demands:
● Required to cover shifts when emergency coverage cannot be found.
● Runs errands, when needed, to pick up supplies and/or products.
● Facilitate and work special events, as needed.
● Maintains positive Foxtail Coffee morale and professional attitude.
● Excellent verbal and written skills.
● Well-organized and detail-oriented.
● Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear during hours of store operation.
● Regularly required to utilize critical thinking skills to improve operations.
● Frequently required to use hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
● Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds.
● Must be able to adjust vision to both day and night lighting, and be able to focus on distant and close-range projects.
● Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages.
