In the capacity of a Plumber within the Facilities team, your role is foundational to the success of ongoing projects. Under the guidance of the Area Superintendent, you will actively participate in hands-on plumbing tasks, contributing to the meticulous assembly and installation of essential mechanical components crucial to our Facilities products. Your involvement in the early stages of the project lifecycle is integral, ensuring the seamless integration of plumbing and mechanical elements and laying the groundwork for project success.

Collaboration with the Area Superintendent and others within the core group is paramount, as it ensures the maintenance of an efficient workflow and adherence to Germfree's commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Hands-On Plumbing Assembly
  • Independently undertake hands-on plumbing assembly tasks (general, hydronics, gas line piping) with precision and efficiency under the guidance of the Area Superintendent.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team to support the installation of mechanical components and systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Participate in detailed quality checks on components to verify adherence to project standards, specifications, and Germfree's stringent quality requirements.
  • Contribute proactively to problem-solving efforts under the supervision of experienced team members, addressing any complex challenges that may arise.
  • Follow and reinforce safety protocols rigorously to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues, prioritizing everyone's well-being.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Perform thorough quality checks on assembled components to ensure functionality, accuracy, and adherence to project standards.
  • Develop the ability to identify and rectify defects or discrepancies in assemblies independently.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality inspections and findings, showcasing a high level of attention to detail and accountability.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
  • Lead proactive problem-solving efforts, working closely with team members to address complex challenges effectively.
  • Develop advanced critical thinking skills and apply effective troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements based on hands-on experience and observations, enhancing project outcomes.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Lead adherence to strict safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and your team members.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions and workshops to enhance awareness of workplace hazards and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety by actively identifying and addressing potential safety concerns in assembly tasks.
  • Training and Development:
  • Participate in specialized training programs tailored to enhance your advanced plumbing skills, including advanced equipment operation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Lead workshops and seminars focused on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in plumbing technology (e.g. pro press)

By actively engaging in these responsibilities and initiatives, you will continue to refine your advanced

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or possessing a relevant trade certification.
  • Advanced hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with interpreting plumbing schematics and specifications.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to varying project requirements.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safety protocols.
  • Specific Plumbing Capabilities
  • Hydronics (HVAC)
  • Gas Piping (Stainless Steel Compression)
  • Sweating/Soldering
  • Braising (Not required, but would be ideal)

Reports to: Area Superintendent

Work Schedule: Full-time, in a production environment
