Compensation:
$52 to $60 per hour
Overview:
The Construction Superintendent will provide daily onsite construction, administrative and technical management of a mechanical construction project for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (DOT).
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily onsite construction, administrative and technical management of a mechanical construction project
- Assist the Senior Project Manager as required with project schedule and tracking, reporting quality management and internal communications
- Direct interface with customers managing customer service, relationships and contractual obligations
- Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities and tracking of outstanding items
- Provide a detailed 2-week look schedule to facilitate customer coordination and planning;
- Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing and scheduling special inspections as well as AHJ inspections
- Ensure compliance with company, industry, customer and jurisdictional safety standards, practices and codes
- Travel required
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5+ years of (mechanical) Construction Manager/Superintendent experience (public sector/government project experience preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills
- Proficient in using construction management software programs (Procore experience preferred)
- Must be organized, proactive and have proven experience in OSHA compliance
- Skillful communicator in both verbal and in written communication
- Excellent writing skills with proper grammar
- A great listener who can communicate professionally and in an open and positive approach
- Ability to travel frequently
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (preferred)
- First Aid & CPR Certification (preferred)
