Our dynamic logistics company in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated team. This role is central to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipment contents. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against orders and packing slips.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and management to ensure timely shipment preparation.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments processed.
- Operate shipping software and other relevant technology systems.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to strict Safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed, which may involve occasional Lifting of packages up to 30 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist with receiving and stocking of incoming goods when required.
- Contribute to the smooth functioning of the overall logistics process.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with shipments or documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the logistics team to meet daily shipping targets.
- Ensure all shipments are prepared according to customer specifications and delivery requirements.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative or logistics role is required. Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient computer skills, including experience with shipping software. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
