Are you a proven leader in warehouse management? Our facility in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our distribution operations. This role is responsible for managing a team of warehouse associates, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing logistics, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership qualities, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, including safety protocols, proper lifting techniques, and the mandatory use of PPE. We are looking for someone who can drive performance and foster a positive, safe working culture.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, providing clear direction and performance feedback.
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure efficient inventory management and accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Implement and enforce all safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Promote the correct use of PPE and emphasize safe lifting practices.
- Manage warehouse resources, including equipment and space, for optimal efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance and reduce costs.
- Maintain close communication with other departments to ensure seamless logistics coordination.
- Handle employee relations issues and resolve operational conflicts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational results.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures related to logistics and safety.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control methods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, including proper PPE requirements and safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to manage teams effectively and drive performance.
- Physical ability to oversee warehouse activities, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field is preferred.
