This role is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. You'll be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring packages are ready for timely dispatch. The ideal candidate understands the importance of accuracy in logistics, possesses strong communication skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Verify order accuracy before dispatch.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with computers and shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks such as light lifting and moving boxes.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Working Conditions:
This position operates within a busy warehouse environment. While the role is primarily administrative and involves desk work, occasional movement within the warehouse may be required. Adherence to general warehouse safety guidelines and the use of appropriate PPE when necessary is expected.
