The Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) is a vital role in safeguarding the American people by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforcing Customs Laws - Conduct inspections of individuals, conveyances, and merchandise to ensure compliance with regulations. Identify potential security threats through physical examination of cargo/bags/merchandise. Determine admissibility of entries based on information gathered from these activities.​​

Job Qualifications:

  GS-7 Requirements: , A bachelor's degree or superior academic achievement; OR one year specialized work experience equivalent to GS-5 level that includes performing physical inspections for criminal activity; Utilizing observation techniques evaluating facts reviewing documentation while applying Federal State or local laws.
