Step into a pivotal role as a
Senior Database Administrator , where you'll lead the design, maintenance, and optimization of complex database environments that power mission-critical operations. You'll ensure data is always secure, accessible, and resilient by implementing advanced backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery solutions across both on-premises and cloud platforms. As a recognized technical professional, your expertise will be sought out by developers, analysts, and decision-makers alike, as you troubleshoot, tune, and safeguard systems to meet demanding service-level expectations. Key Responsibilities: Database Infrastructure Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain complex on-premises and cloud-based database systems to ensure secure and reliable operations. Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Monitor database performance against service-level agreements, deploy diagnostic tools, and independently resolve advanced issues impacting system integrity and availability. Security & Patch Management:
Apply patches, upgrades, and configuration changes to safeguard database environments while supporting compliance with organizational policies and standards. System Integration & Optimization:
Design and implement database architectures, integrate new technologies, and optimize systems for improved scalability and efficiency. Disaster Recovery & Continuity:
Configure and validate backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery procedures to guarantee data protection and service restoration readiness. Technical Support & Collaboration:
Provide advanced technical guidance to developers, analysts, and IT staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and coordinate with vendors to resolve complex database-related issues. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing:
Train and mentor junior DBAs and CTS staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and elevating team capabilities. To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the final filing date of this bulletin:
OPTION I:
9+ years' experience in database administration and solution architecture. OPTION II:
Associate's degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field;
-AND-
7+ years' experience in database administration and solution architecture. OPTION III:
Bachelor's degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field;
-AND-
5+ years' experience in database administration and solution architecture. OPTION IV:
Master's degree* in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field;

Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio (e.g., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience). Overtime does not count toward additional credit. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale databases (such as SQL Server, Oracle) Proven track record designing and implementing advanced HA/DR solutions (Always-On Availability Groups, Oracle Data Guard, etc.). Demonstrated ability to optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations for large-scale, high-transaction systems. Knowledge of database security practices, including user access management, compliance, and auditing Exposure to SSIS, SSRS, PL/SQL and proficiency with ETL tools and scripting for large-scale data migrations, transformations, and integrations. Advanced use of PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages to automate database administration tasks. Familiarity with variety of database environment topologies.
