About the Role
The Director of Human Resources leads the development and execution of HR strategies that support organizational goals, associate engagement, and compliance. This role oversees talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, and workforce development while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead HR strategy across talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee relations, safety, records management, succession planning, and retention.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Oversee benefit plan design, administration, and cost management.
- Administer FMLA and company leave programs in compliance with employment laws.
- Develop and refine compensation and benefits programs.
- Manage risk related to workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
- Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.
- Support annual performance review and wage/salary planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; advise leadership on regulatory changes.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance organizational effectiveness and associate experience.
- Execute with operational integrity by anticipating challenges and adapting HR practices.
- Consistently follow Busch's policies and procedures and promote company values.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required, master's preferred.
- 5+ years of HR management experience with emphasis on compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Active involvement in HR professional organizations (e.g., SHRM, IFEBP, World at Work).
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance.
- Excellent conflict resolution, organizational, planning, and presentation skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email; ability to learn HR systems and technology.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
