Join our bustling warehouse as a Forklift Operator in Huntsville, Alabama. This critical role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be responsible for handling a variety of materials, from raw goods to finished products, ensuring timely and accurate movements throughout the facility. Maintaining a clean and safe work area, performing daily equipment inspections, and adhering to all safety protocols are essential. This position requires a keen awareness of your surroundings and a commitment to preventing accidents. Your role is integral to our logistics chain, supporting production, shipping, and receiving operations. Successful candidates must be proficient in forklift operation, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and be comfortable with the physical demands of the job, including occasional Lifting and wearing required PPE . We prioritize a secure and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trailers and racks.
- Transport materials to designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
- Follow all safety procedures and utilize appropriate PPE .
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and efficient logistics .
- Manage order fulfillment and staging accurately.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts.
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Capability for moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse procedures and logistics flow.
- Strong commitment to safety and use of PPE .
- Good communication skills.
