Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and clients via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and updates.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and adjust plans as needed for efficiency.
• Input accurate data to maintain real-time records.
• Manage dispatching activities for freight movement, including coordinating with fleet management teams.
• Assist with shipping & receiving operations by verifying shipments, processing documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in logistics operations.
• Freight rate negotiations and securing contract carriers while following strict vetting procedures to ensure safety of all shipments

Skills

• Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation planning tools.
• Experience with transportation management systems
• Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing multiple software platforms.
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles, freight logistics, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures.
• Analysis skills to interpret transportation data for operational improvements.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
