As Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead the end-to-end UI/UX engineering strategy for CAS, including modernization of the current user experience, development of design systems, and introduction of SaaS-based UI frameworks. Your teams will deliver high-performance, accessible, and intuitive user experiences across CAS while shaping UI architecture for our future cloud-based system. This role blends engineering leadership, UX partnership, design strategy, and front-end technology expertise. This role also requires depth in full-stack engineering, strong engineering fundamentals, and proven team leadership in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities UI/UX Engineering Leadership
Lead UI/UX engineering teams building high-quality front-end applications and design components. Own the UI architecture and frameworks, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and consistent UX patterns. Collaborate with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Accessibility experts to translate concepts into engineered experiences. Experience & Design System Leadership Own the CAS Design System and ensure consistency across multiple modules and teams. Champion accessibility (WCAG 2.x AA), usability testing, responsive design, and human-centered design principles. Partner with UX Research to integrate customer insights into engineering decisions. SaaS & Platform Modernization Drive the transition toward SaaS-aligned UI frameworks and platform integrations needed for CAS modernization. Evaluate and integrate UI platform vendors, ensuring reliability, performance, and security. Support the migration of UI workloads to cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture. Technical Strategy & Delivery Define UI coding standards, performance budgets, and front-end engineering best practices. Lead cross-functional engineering delivery in collaboration with backend, DevSecOps, and SRE teams. Oversee component libraries, accessibility tooling, automated regression frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines for UI apps. Drive innovation initiatives, promoting a culture of creativity, experimentation, and learning. This includes leveraging Artificial Intelligence in the automation and augmentation of clinical processes; leveraging FHIR/HL7 services to drive interoperability and electronic health record integration; and increase product development velocity using AI. Agile Project & Release Delivery Lead UI teams through sprint execution, estimation, backlog refinement, issue resolution, and release readiness. Improve the speed and quality of UI delivery through process, tooling, and engineering excellence. Quality, Security & Operational Excellence

development: unit, integration, contract testing and automation-first mindset. Enforce security-by-design, secure coding standards, dependency hygiene, and API versioning discipline. Collaborate with DevSecOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering to ensure reliability, observability, and operational readiness. People Leadership Hire, mentor, and develop UI engineers, tech leads, and UI platform specialists. Build a culture of craftsmanship, innovation, and user-centered thinking. Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and empowered team decision-making. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the UI engineering voice across architecture, product, backend engineering, analytics, and enterprise design organizations. Communicate UI strategy and technical direction to senior leadership and stakeholders. Partner with enterprise accessibility teams, security, and compliance to ensure alignment. Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in UI/UX engineering or front-end development roles. 3+ years leading UI/UX engineering teams or technical leads. Deep hands-on experience with modern JS frameworks (Angular preferred) and UI engineering principles. Strong knowledge of design systems, accessibility guidelines, and UX engineering workflows. Strong technical background in at least one modern engineering stack (e.g., .NET, Java, Node or similar). Experience with UI performance optimization, testing frameworks, bundling tools, and observability instrumentation. Experience partnering cross-functionally with UX Design, Product, and Architecture. Preferred Qualifications
Experience contributing to SaaS UI platform adoption or modernization initiatives. Cloud platform experience (Azure or GCP) including front-end hosting and optimization. Familiarity with micro-frontend patterns, module federation, and enterprise-scale UI decomposition. Certifications in UX/Accessibility (CPACC), front-end engineering, or SAFe Agile. Domain experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management, Health Insurance, Clinical Utilization Management Products, or Prior Authorization. Experience in healthcare, retail, or pharmacy environments. Knowledge of regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PCI DSS, FedRAMP). Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
