About

Dobson Property Management is looking for a full-time leasing agent to join our growing team. If you are motivated, organized, articulate, excel in customer service, and enjoy interacting with people, you may find this role to be a perfect fit. We are a small but growing company that manages around 550 rental units in the Madison area. You will be working directly with the owner and property manager each day. We will always be there to support you and handle any questions that you may have in order to help you learn the business. The owner and property manager have done everything on the job duties list below, so we'll never ask you to do anything we haven't already done.

Job Requirements:

-Positive attitude is a must. Must be willing to learn and take direction

-High school degree with at least 3-4 years of work experience in any field

-College degree required if no work experience

-Experience working in sales, hospitality, service industry, or leasing desired, but not required

-Good written and verbal communication skills

-Strong time management and organizational skills

-Must be reliable and hardworking

-Weekend availability and occasional summer holiday required during turnover season

-Valid driver's license with good driving history and a reliable vehicle

Job Details:

The leasing agent position offers a lot of variety on a day-to-day basis. You will see hundreds of different units, properties, and people. The leasing agent's main job is to facilitate the leasing process from start to finish. During leasing season in the spring and summer, most of the day will be spent going from property to property doing showings (mileage reimbursement provided). Other duties included but are not limited to:

-Scheduling showings/appointments with prospective renters

-Communicating with and notifying current residents of appointments

-Possessing knowledge of each property and the ability to answer common questions during the showings

-Processing applications

-Assisting in apartment turnovers: set up key lock boxes, take move out and move in photos, ensure unit is ready for move-in

-Taking marketing photos and video tours of new units for rent

-Depositing rent checks

-Handling office paperwork including data entry and file organization

-Giving input on what future rents should be based on market activity, comps, and general feedback from showings

-Completing walkthroughs of all units that are under management during non-leasing season

Office time will be spent prepping leasing folders for the next days' showings, in addition to assisting office staff with setting up appointments and replying to general leasing questions from texts, emails, and phone calls. Any downtime will be spent cross-training to learn other aspects of the business. This will include, but is not limited to, learning the management software, entering and prepping invoices for
