About Us:
The Arc of Tri-Cities is a mission-driven nonprofit organization that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a variety of inclusive programs and services. We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Facility Maintenance & Janitor to help keep our space clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors.

Position Overview:
As our Facility Maintenance & Janitor, you'll play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of our facilities—both inside and out. Your work ensures that our staff, program participants, and guests are welcomed into a well-maintained environment that reflects the care and commitment we bring to everything we do.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks such as emptying trash, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and dusting
  • Refill supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and kitchen areas
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and respond promptly to spills or safety hazards
  • Keep janitorial closets organized and equipment in good working condition
  • Conduct minor repairs (e.g., lightbulb replacement, unclogging toilets, basic sprinkler fixes)
  • Assist with seasonal upkeep of outdoor areas, including leaf blowing and snow removal
  • Operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain cleaning supply inventory and place restock orders as needed
  • Support the Facilities Director with developing and following a cleaning/maintenance schedule
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to a hazard-free environment
  • Pitch in with other duties as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance roles
  • Familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and minor repairs
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time well
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs (team-lifting supported)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass a DSHS background check
  • Positive, respectful attitude when interacting with individuals with developmental disabilities

Preferred Qualities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Team-oriented mindset and can-do attitude
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and high standards of quality

Why Join The Arc?

  • Meaningful work that directly supports your community
  • Friendly and inclusive team culture
  • Opportunity to make a positive impact every day
