Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care in various settings. This role requires a commitment to patient assessment, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and the ability to work effectively in both acute and long-term care environments.

Duties
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

    • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Conduct patient assessments and document findings in medical records.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist with patient education and provide support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care activities.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems, such as Epic, to input and retrieve patient information.

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments to monitor health status and report changes to the healthcare team.

  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Providing direct patient care in settings such as hospitals, teaching hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
  • Assisting with medical imaging procedures and critical care tasks as needed.
  • Educating patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
  • Collaborating with registered nurses and physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Experience
Candidates should have:

    • Previous experience in occupational health, toddler care, or behavioral health settings is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology and ability to apply it in patient care.

  • Experience in dementia care is a plus.
  • Proficient in conducting patient assessments and interpreting results.
  • Familiarity with medical equipment and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

  • A valid LPN license with relevant clinical experience in acute care or hospital medicine Required.

  • Familiarity with emergency medicine practices is advantageous.
  • Experience working in a teaching hospital environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of infant care protocols is beneficial for those interested in pediatrics.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively teach patients about their health conditions and treatments.

Skills:
- Valid LPN license in the state of Georgia
- Ability to perform patient assessments and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
- Proficient in taking vital signs and monitoring patients' physical condition.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems, such as Epic, for documentation purposes.
- Understanding of behavioral health principles and ability to provide compassionate care.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
