Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking an Oracle DBA to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full-time (Regular) Exempt (Salary) position located in Patuxent River, MD Some telework will be allowed; however, candidate will be required to work onsite at Patuxent River, MD 20670 two to three days per week.

ROLES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer Oracle databases, instances, and schemas on-prem and in the AWS cloud.
• Perform routine backups and recovery using datapump export and RMAN integrated into Rubrik.
• Monitor database statistics, tables, indexes, and space usage.
• Perform checks of database servers, confirming status of backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve database connection and performance issues.
• Create, modify, and delete database accounts.
• Monitor/maintain database DoD STIG compliance, apply fixes and mitigations, and maintain checklists.
• Occasional daily/evening/weekend on-site or telework support for upgrades/ patching.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:

• BA/BS and 3 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- AA/AS degree and 7 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- HS/GED and 9 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above.
• A bachelor's or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar is preferred.
• College degrees must be obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Database administration (installation, configuration, upgrading, performance turning) experience working with Oracle 19c.
• Experience with UNIX.
• Command line experience with SQL Developer and/or Toad.
• Experience with performance tuning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirement.
• Active/Interim TS/SSBI clearance -OR- active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SSBI.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Experience RHEL or Solaris.
• Experience setting up and configuring Amazon RDS database instances.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation range is based on industry compensation data and/or position budget and reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness:

• The annual base compensation range is $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.
