About
- Responsible for preparing ingredients and cooking menu items according to recipes, while maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workstation to support smooth kitchen operations during service.
- Food Preparation (Prep): Wash, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, meats, and other ingredients; mix sauces; parboil items; assemble salads and sandwiches.
- Line Cooking: Cook menu items (grill, fry, sauté) to order, ensuring quality, presentation, and timing meet restaurant standards.
- Station Management: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ingredients, and utensils; manage inventory and monitor usage.
- Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, sanitize surfaces, wash dishes, and dispose of trash; adhere to all food safety and health regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure dishes are ready simultaneously; assist other cooks as needed.
- Inventory: Assist with inventory checks, proper food storage, and rotation.
- Closing Duties: Follow station closing checklists, clean equipment, and store leftovers properly.
