Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role is vital in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. The Shift Manager will play a key role in managing staff, controlling inventory, and upholding the restaurant's operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficiency and high-quality service.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control measures.
- Manage POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders as needed, and control food and supply costs to meet budget targets.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff members on food handling, customer service, safety procedures, and operational protocols.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all areas of the restaurant.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist with shift scheduling, interviewing potential team members, and participating in staff development initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas during shifts.
- Support catering, banquet events, or special functions as needed to uphold service standards.
Experience
- Proven management experience within the food industry, ideally in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments.
- Extensive background in food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety practices.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively, including training & development of staff members.
- Prior experience in restaurant management or hospitality management roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, and food production processes.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team management, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency.
- Background in culinary arts or fine dining experience is a plus for understanding high-quality food standards. Pay: $ $16.00 per hour
