Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker

Merit Logistics is looking to hire on several individuals for a Sit Down Forklift/Warehouse Workerposition in Olyphant. This position is primarily operating a sit down forklift at a local automotive parts warehouse.

First Shift - Monday to Friday

Weekly Pay - $20/hr

Responsibilities may include:

• Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
• Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
• Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
• Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
• Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
• Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
• Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
• Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
• Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods
• Replenishing air filters, oil filters, wiper blades and other small automotive parts
• Picking air filters, oil filters, wiper blades and other small automotive parts
• Packing air filters, oil filters, wiper blades and other small automotive parts
• Manually constructing shipping cartons
• Housekeeping- removing plastic, cardboard (bailing), emptying trash and sweeping floors

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Experience is required
• Warehouse Experience required
• Pick / pack experience in a line environment
• RF scanner experience
• Experience opening cartons, replenishing and picking product
• Must be quality minded and have a strong attention to detail
• Must have a strong sense of teamwork, a quick work pace and a friendly, outgoing demeanor capable of getting along well with co-workers and managers
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. infrequently
• Ability to stand, squat, reach and walk between hours per shift
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
