About the Role

The Office and Human Resources Assistant is a key member of the Veeya team and plays an important role in building and supporting our internal HR function. This position supports daily office operations while assisting across multiple human resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and benefits administration.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, creating processes, and supporting people in a growing organization. A high level of confidentiality, professionalism, initiative, and integrity is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resources Support

  • Assist with employee recruitment and hiring coordination
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including pay, position, performance reviews, background and fingerprint clearances, and certification dates
  • Assist with employee benefits administration and open enrollment
  • Support managers by providing guidance on people-related processes in coordination with leadership
  • Partner with the outsourced payroll/HR provider to update and maintain the employee handbook

Office Administration

  • Open the office daily
  • Manage office supplies, cleaning products, and snacks
  • Plan and coordinate office events, including All-Hands lunches, holiday parties, and team-building activities
  • Assist with planning management travel
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs and individual strengths

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in a human resources or administrative support role
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced certificate or degree preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, discreet, and confidential approach to work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in a small or growing organization preferred

Compensation:

  • Competitive part-time salary, commensurate with experience
