Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our DREAM TEAM. The DSP will provide direct care, support, and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead independent and fulfilling lives. This role requires the DSP to have RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION AND EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE. It involves supporting daily living activities, attending therapy appointments, fostering community engagement, and ensuring the overall well-being of the individuals served. The DSP must be dependable at all times and have an honest desire to enhance the living of others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support, supervision, and personal care to individuals with disabilities.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Support individuals in community participation, socialization, and recreational activities.
  • Administer medications and follow individualized care plans as directed.
  • Document and report changes in behavior, health, and progress.
  • Assist with transportation to appointments, social events, and community activities.
  • Encourage independence and personal growth through skill-building and positive reinforcement.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to optimize care and support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in direct care, caregiving, or disability support is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to support individuals with disabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
  • Must pass a background check and meet state certification/licensure requirements (if applicable).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs when necessary.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a variety of settings, including residential homes, community locations, and day programs.
