Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics. This role requires a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer's or memory care. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and a solid understanding of medical terminology and vital signs are essential. The CNA will play a vital role in supporting clinical staff and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for all patients.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using medical documentation standards
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper medication handling following HIPAA guidelines
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health needs
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and aseptic techniques to prevent infection
- Support patients in memory care units or those with infectious diseases or post-acute needs
- Document patient information thoroughly in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, or pediatric settings to deliver comprehensive patient service
- Maintain patient safety by recognizing potential hazards and adhering to infection control protocols
- Support discharge planning and home & community care initiatives for post-acute or outpatient services
Experience
Candidates should possess relevant experience including but not limited to:
- Long-term care, nursing home, assisted living, or geriatrics experience
- Caregiving for patients with disabilities or behavioral health conditions
- Skills in phlebotomy, medication administration, and medical-surgical procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as SigmaCare
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care environments
- Experience providing hospice or palliative care services in home or inpatient settings
- Candidates with expertise in infectious disease care, aseptic technique, DME management, or post-acute/sub-acute care are highly valued. Prior experience working within teaching hospitals or outpatient clinics is also advantageous. A valid CNA certification is required along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
