As a Solution Manager, you will be entrusted with managing and optimising engineering teams within the Solution Engineering function for a highly regarded Insurance leader. Your leadership will ensure that teams consistently deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and personal development. You will be instrumental in guiding technical strategy, managing vendor relationships, and driving operational governance—ensuring all initiatives are delivered efficiently, securely, and with maximum value. Your expertise will influence the evolution of our software architecture, promote best practices, and support long-term strategic goals, making you a key driver of our digital transformation. Required Skills
Proven experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams Strong understanding of software delivery methodologies, including Agile and DevOps principles Deep technical knowledge of modern architectural patterns, cloud engineering, and data engineering Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Skilled in program and project management with a focus on dependencies and cross-team collaboration Budget management and operational governance expertise Leadership in driving continuous improvement and fostering team development Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; industry-recognised certifications in Agile or similar frameworks are a plus Nice to Have Skills
Experience with componentised architecture and systems integration Familiarity with software testing strategies across multiple layers Knowledge of global IT strategy and architecture standards Experience managing vendor relationships and ensuring vendor skill applicability Certifications in Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience) Extensive mid-level management experience with a track record of delivering large-scale digital projects Prior experience in financial services or insurance industry is advantageous Demonstrable experience in system lifecycle management and solution reuse within global organizations Other Requirements
