We are seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join our expanding warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within our **logistics** facility. Your expertise in material handling and unwavering commitment to **safety** are essential. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of inventory and contributing to overall operational efficiency. Strict adherence to all **safety** procedures and the mandatory use of **PPE** is expected. This position is vital to our **logistics** operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and railcars.
- Accurately place materials in designated storage areas.
- Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance of forklift equipment.
- Report any equipment issues or **safety** hazards to supervision immediately.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including put-away and retrieval.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Strictly follow all **safety** guidelines and **PPE** requirements.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a certified Forklift Operator.
- Demonstrated knowledge of **logistics** and warehouse operations.
- Ability to **lift** up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent understanding of forklift **safety** protocols and best practices.
- Proficiency in wearing and utilizing necessary **PPE**.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
