We are looking for a highly motivated Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical for optimizing inventory accuracy, minimizing stockouts, and reducing excess inventory. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, analyzing inventory data, and identifying trends to improve efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy of stock.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments to optimize inventory.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to manage inventory effectively.
- Implement strategies to reduce inventory holding costs and improve inventory turnover.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and other key metrics.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to the overall optimization of warehouse logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and advanced spreadsheet software.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical inventory tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to enforce safety standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is a plus.
