Position Summary

The Project Engineer supports project planning, coordination, and execution to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. Acts as a technical liaison between estimating, operations, and field teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and contracts.
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules.
  • Track project progress and update dashboards.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
  • Support field teams with technical guidance and problem-solving.
  • Monitor compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams regarding project status.

Authority & Decision Rights

  • Can recommend adjustments to schedules and resource allocations.
  • Authorized to approve minor material purchases within budget limits.
  • Escalates major changes or risks to Project Manager

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Proficiency in project management software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Zero safety incidents related to engineering oversight.
  • Accurate and timely documentation with minimal errors.
  • Strong collaboration with field and operations teams.

  • Schedule adherence (% of tasks completed on time).
  • Budget variance (% deviation from estimated cost).
  • RFI turnaround time.
  • Change order accuracy and timeliness.
  • Safety compliance (zero violations).

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM – 5PM, with flexibility depending on workload.
  • Must be able to work in office setting.
  • Renton, Washington, United States
