Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Team Member / Cashier to join our dynamic food service team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, handling transactions accurately, and supporting food preparation and service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food industry settings, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for delivering a positive dining experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, sales, and customer service within a vibrant café or quick-service restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders
• Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling
• Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations, dining areas, and equipment
• Handle cash transactions accurately and provide correct change
• Support food service operations such as bussing tables, restocking supplies, and managing food safety protocols
• Ensure quick turnaround during busy hours while maintaining high-quality service standards
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and health regulations in accordance with industry standards

Skills

• Experience in food preparation and food handling within a restaurant or café environment
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is preferred
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
• Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper kitchen etiquette
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Previous experience in quick service & fast-food restaurants or grocery stores is advantageous
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Team-oriented attitude with flexibility to support various roles within the restaurant operations

Pay: From $17.95 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 36.0 per week
