Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team for the 7a-3p shift. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care, support medical teams, and ensure the comfort and safety of our patients. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments by monitoring vital signs, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating patient needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
- Assist with medical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, wound suturing, and sterile dressing changes using aseptic techniques.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments in memory or long-term care facilities.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations including acute pain management, airway management, or emergency triage in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or Level I trauma centers.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient record management.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level I trauma center background enhances your ability to handle complex cases effectively.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator care, and patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Skilled in medication administration, phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding, and IV insertion/infusion techniques.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and sterile processing to ensure patient safety at all times.
