Position Overview:
The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for the successful execution of commercial roofing projects from mobilization through closeout. This role leads field personnel and subcontractors, enforces safety and quality standards, manages jobsite operations, and ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to customer and GC expectations. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, representing the company with professionalism, accountability, and a strong commitment to safety and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Field & Labor Management:
Manage all field employees and direct subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Coordinate staffing, equipment, and material needs for each project phase.
Job Site Safety:
Promote and enforce all safety policies and OSHA requirements across job sites.
Respond immediately to safety incidents or concerns to mitigate risk and prevent violations.
Track and report weekly safety scorecard metrics, including leaks, warranties, and violations, during Traction Meetings.
Project Execution & Specifications:
Review project specifications, drawings, and scopes with estimators to confirm accuracy.
Ensure proper ordering and allocation of labor, materials, and equipment in alignment with job specs.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Coordination:
Ensure each project meets or exceeds expectations of the General Contractor and customer.
Act as a professional onsite representative of the company at all times.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement:
Enforce post-job inspections, site cleanups, approvals, and customer follow-ups.
Ensure satisfaction surveys are completed and feedback is addressed.
Reporting & Metrics:
Complete daily job progress reports with accurate schedule and financial updates.
Meet or exceed monthly budgeted project quotas.
Maintain company reputation through consistent execution, safety, and professionalism.
Actively manage company vehicles, tools, and rented equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of commercial roofing and/or estimating experience
OSHA 30-Hour Certification (required)
Strong working knowledge of commercial roofing systems and applications
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and specifications
Proven experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, and quality control
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills with crews, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights and on steep slopes
Standard work week with flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required to meet project deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55, $60,000.00 per year
