Our Columbus, Ohio facility is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. In this essential role, you will manage the preparation and dispatch of all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Responsibilities include generating shipping labels, verifying order details, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Your dedication to detail and understanding of logistics processes will be key to optimizing our shipping operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Create shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify order contents against shipping manifests for accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and scanners.
- Maintain clean and organized shipping and receiving areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, emphasizing the correct use of PPE.
- Liaise with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve shipping-related issues.
- This position requires some lifting of packages, typically up to 30 lbs, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common carrier systems.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and general logistics principles.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency in all shipping tasks.
